Avaya Support: A Legacy Partner with Migration Expertise

Written by David Shelby | November 8, 2024

Tens of thousands of organizations all across the world use legacy voice systems from providers like Avaya. Even as they prepare for a migration to the cloud, they’re looking to get the very most out of these systems. With the right support, this is more than doable.

PBX providers offer maintenance and support, and while they’ve been able to give many customers the support they need, sometimes they can’t quite handle it on their own. It’s cases like these that require more flexible, robust support, with additional expertise with modern solutions.

Continuant’s Avaya Support, Present and Future

With more than 28 years working with enterprise communications, Continuant has an extensive background in both legacy systems from providers like Avaya and modern solutions like Cisco Webex and Microsoft Teams. We serve as a bridge for many of our customers between their current communications environment and their future state.

On either side of that bridge, we serve as a go-between for customers and providers, resolve complex system issues in record time, build roadmaps for major migrations, and integrate old and new technologies for hybrid solutions.

Our customers include organizations of all sizes in healthcare, retail, education, manufacturing, and even the government. Recently, we were able to provide vital support for a very important customer, the government of Washington DC.

The Story of Continuant and the DC Government

The government of Washington DC relies on a complex SIP environment with an Avaya PBX. These are integral for managing its impressive 311 call center and coordinating important government projects. Direct support from Avaya had proven reliable for years, until their System Manager security certification expired.

Months of troubleshooting went by, and no one was able to resolve the issue. That is, until their Continuant support began. Working with engineers from Avaya and DC’s staff, we oversaw the complete restoration of the system. Once that was done, renewing the security certification was easy.

Continuant provides Avaya PBX support for the DC government to this day, remaining a highly technical trusted resource for the government’s tech team. This is especially useful since the DC government will soon be migrating to a cloud-based Cisco solution.

As the migration commences, Continuant will ensure DC’s environment remains at peak efficiency. Our teams include experienced Cisco engineers and system experts that have assisted other organizations through massive cloud migrations.

Whatever’s next for the DC Government, Continuant will be able to offer expert help.
