Why You Need a Partner: The Challenges of Modern Managed Services

When it comes to maintaining communications, whether its legacy PBX systems or more contemporary UCaaS solutions, managed services are and have always been an important part of it. In this video, Mike Hanks explains how managed services has changed, and why partners are more important today than ever before.

    Managed Services in the Beginning

Continuant’s been in the managed services game for 28 years, and quite a lot has changed. As Mike says in the video, back in the day communications were less unified and more siloed. Back then, organizations often had their own telecom and IT departments to manage communications along with a facilities department that could manage AV setups.

Back then, a partner like Continuant would simply come alongside those departments and help them with specific engineering needs. There was certainly value in that, but for most organizations it was optional.

    The Importance of Partners Today

Now, things are different. Where communications are concerned, everything has been consolidated into modern UC solutions. While this makes communications broadly simpler, it’s become harder to manage. The onus of managing multiple platforms and networks is on IT, making for a more resource-intensive and less secure communications environment.

How does an IT department manage this vast communication infrastructure? We’ll go ahead and let Mike answer that. Watch the video and stay tuned for part 2.
